ServicesAdoption Program Pets
for adoption are an important aspect of our organization. Our pets need
a second chance to find a permanent, loving home. Our adoption page will
give you more information on this important program.
Adoption CounselingIn an effort to match pets with people we provide as much information as possible about the pet being adopted and any health or temperament problems we have observed. It is important to remember that over 70% of the pets entering our shelter are strays with no history. We cannot guarantee the health, temperament, behavior or personality of any animal adopted. We also provide information about the responsibilities of pet ownership including the long-term emotional and financial commitment required for owning a pet. Humane Education/ Pet Behavior & Training/Resource LibraryBy increasing the awareness of animal welfare issues and pet care responsibilities we hope to decrease the overwhelming numbers of unwanted animals as well as the problems of neglect and abuse. Educational presentations, shelter tours, and information material are available to all age groups in the area. Losing a pet can be as devastating as losing a human friend or family member. Emotions too are similar as are the stages of grief. Denial, anger, guilt, depression are all natural components of pet loss. Unfortunately, few outlets exist for pet owners to deal with the grieving process. Our Pet Loss Support Group is available to help with that process. Held the first and third Thursdays of each month the support group is open to the public with no fees or registrations necessary. The group will meet from 7:00 pm to 8:30 pm. No meetings are held on holidays. Volunteer OpportunitiesVolunteers are one of our most valuable resources. They are very special people who give of their time and their talents to benefits equally special pets. Check out the volunteer page for more information about becoming a volunteer and the volunteer opportunities available. Lost & Found Our

Financial assistance through this program does not cover any medical services, medications or vaccinations other than spaying or neutering. This program is not intended to be a discount program for those who have the financial means to spay or neuter their pets. It is important that all pet owners are aware of this vital responsibility and that they take the steps necessary to ensure the health and long life of their pets.
