Welcome to the

Circle of Friends Humane Society!

The Circle of Friends Humane Society gives pets of all kinds a second chance for a permanent, loving home.  It’s the second chance they all deserve.

But we can’t do it alone. The responsibility for lost, unwanted animals rests with us all.  That responsibility includes:

*reporting animal neglect or abuse to local

        law enforcment officials

*teaching our children respect for all

        creatures

*adopting a shelter pet to save a life

*learning more about being a responsible               pet owner.

We are all entrusted with the protection of those unable to care for themselves.

Hours of Operation:

Welcome to the

Circle of Friends Dog Park!

Saturday, June 13 marks the official opening of our new public dog park.  Open from dawn to dusk, the park will provide a place for dogs both large and small to interact, socialize and play, play play!

The park will not have an attendant on duty so responsible pet owners only please!  Shelter staff will occasionally monitor the park to ensure park rules are being followed.

Help us make this park an enjoyable experience for all those who use it!  Follow the posted rules, pick up after your pet and be considerate of others!

TAKE ACTION!

CHANGE ND HUMANE TREATMENT LAWS!

  • Be heard!!  All year long!!  Even when the current legislative session is over, contact your legislators.  Continue to inform them how important these changes are.
  • It's up to all of us to make major changes in the humane treatment laws in North Dakota.
  • North Dakota currently has only misdemeanor level penalties for even the most severe animal cruelty, making it one of only eight states without a felony level penalty for this crime.
  • Felony level penalties are essential in protecting animals from abuse.
  • New legislation is absolutely essential to make North Dakota the 43rd state with felony level penalties for animal cruelty.

Please call or email your state representative.

All Year Long...

Please remember local animal shelters and the work they do for your community.

Often animal shelters are maligned because of the agonizing decisions made due to the actions of irresponsible pet owners.

Remind friends, families and neighbors

to spay/neuter  pets,

confine pets appropriately, and

obey state and local laws regarding proper pet care.

Thank your local shelter staff for doing a difficult and heartbreaking job!
