Adopt

Thank you for considering adoption for your next best friend!

One of the most important aspects of the Circle of Friends Humane Society is our adoption program. The pets sheltered at our facility need a second chance. They are not second-hand, second-best, discounted, or free. They are invaluable as loyal companions and beloved friends, who deserve our respect and devotion. Our goal is to strive to place our pets in permanent, loving homes.

Adoptable Pets of the Week

Interested in adopting?  Here’s what you need to know:

  • ▪ Must be 18 years of age or older
  • ▪ Must provide a photo ID (such as Drivers License, or State ID)
  • ▪ If you rent, please provide a copy of your pet policy
  • ▪ Adoption fees vary depending on a variety of factors, such as the pet’s age and breed, if sterilized, etc.

How to choose the pet that’s right for you!  You need to consider:

  • ▪ Breed
  • ▪ Age
  • ▪ Size at adulthood
  • ▪ Temperament and personality
  • ▪ Activity level
  • ▪ Behavior and medical concerns

How does the adoption process work?

At Circle of Friends, we embrace the concept of Adopters Welcome. We encourage and welcome you through our doors, and will gladly assist you with any questions you may have about any pet that interests you.

We will set up an on-site visit for you and the pet to get to know each other.  Our adoption counselors will help you get to know the pet’s personality based on what has been observed at the shelter. Should you decide on adoption during the visit, our process is done the same day. This means the pet can potentially go home with you once the visit, contract, and payment have been completed!

At Circle of Friends, we have on site adoption staff available to help you find the perfect pet match for your family and home. Questions?  Email: adoptions@gfpets.com

*S/N deposit is the "Spay/Neuter" deposit. The $50 is paid by the adopter to ensure that the adopter will spay or neuter the pet by the appropriate date on their contract.  Once the surgery has been done by the assigned date, the adopter may obtain a $50 refund if they bring in proof from their vet. Otherwise, the adopter can choose to leave the $50 as a donation.
