• Beardtober

Those fine folks who grow their beards in October also use that activity as an opportunity to raise funds for non-profits! This year the Circle of Friends Humane Society was chosen as the recipient of those funds! We are so grateful for their support!

Beardtober blew its goal out of the water!! Their goal was $1,000 and their total was $3,048! Thank you is definitely not enough for their efforts on behalf of our little fur kids!! Thanks to everyone who so graciously donated to their cause!

Corbin and his fellow shelter-mates are grateful too!

  • “McCain Noah Endres died of a motorcycle accident on May 22, 2013. McCain was the son of Tom and Mary Endres and brother of Rodell and Taylor Endres. McCain will be remembered for his kind heart, wonderful smile and his caring nature. The sky will be bluer because McCain will be smiling down on us. McCain loved spending time with his beloved companion and family dog, Boomer, that he adopted from the Circle of Friends Humane Society.”
    The Family of McCain Endres

Those of us at the Circle of Friends Humane Society extend our heartfelt sympathy to McCain’s family and friends. There are no words to adequately comfort those who have lost a son, a brother, a friend. The McCain Endres Memorial Fund has been established to extend the love he had for his adopted dog, Boomer, to other pets in need of shelter, medical care and permanent loving homes. This fund will help provide vet services so desperately needed by dogs like Lucky, whose badly broken leg required amputation after his arrival, and the many others who come through our doors needing more than routine care.

Please consider a donation to the McCain Endres Memorial Fund to memorialize a young man who will be missed beyond measure and to assist the many lost, unwanted pets in need of special care.

To this fund we are adding donations totally $1,125 given in memory of Brian Erickson, a lifelong farmer from Northwood whose memorial read, “Nurtured, sustained, by the soil he grew, and his life, like his furrows, ran straight and true.”

As of August 9th, the fund has received $2,475. Thank you for your online donation!

    Donations can be mailed to:
